Tulle Puff Tutorial

Here is my tutorial post from yesterday. I have been trying so hard to keep up on my blog daily but it is hard. I love my blog though and will continue to try my best!!!

I learned how to do the fabric puff flowers from another blog, Little Miss Momma is where I learned!!! Click HERE for that link!

I wanted to put my spin on it, I am sure its been done before but I hadn't seen it!!! I had a request for a Abby Cadaby First Birthday outfit. I thought and thought and thought, "how can I make the hair puff match and resemble Abby Cadaby?"

Ding Ding Ding, puff clips but use the tulle I used from the tutu!!!

OK here is what you need to start with:
Tulle (the colors you want to make the puff with) and you need to cut many (hard for me to say how many, I cut a bunch and if I need more cut more when I run out) circles, about the size of a pop can but a little smaller.
Felt circles, I use a cordinating color. You will need two if you are making a headband or one if you are making a clip.
Hot Glue
Skinny Elastic or Alligator Clips
Scissors
Here is a picture of the Tulle circles I cut (this is just a small amount of circles, probably need triple this many!

Here is a picture of the felt circles. I needed two cause I made pigtail puff clips.

OK Start with a felt circle and one tulle circle. You need to use both hands and crease it in the middle. THE PICTURES WILL HELP MORE, KIND OF HARD TO EXPLAIN!

Then turn in around and put hot glue on the bottom, cone part. Then put the first tulle piece in the middle of the felt circle. From there I just start alternating the tulle circle colors and hot gluing them side by side until the felt circle is full. You will have to hold the tulle on the felt circle for a few seconds till the hot glue dries or it will pull up and not stick.

Once you have all your tulle one it will look like this...!!!!

Sometime I trim up the outside edges if there are any pieces sticking out alot.
If you are making a clip you will need a partially lined alligator clip, if you are making a headband you will need the correct length of skinny elastic (IF YOU NEED THE SIZE MEASUREMENTS LET ME KNOW!)

Glue the alligator clip on or glue the skinny elastic on (make sure that it is not twisted) and then glue another felt circle over the skinny elastic.

OK I am sooo sorry I have been MIA so much!!! Here is why...

I have been absolutely drained and there are some days I feel like I can't even function I am sooo tired.

I am 8 weeks and 6 days today, my due date is Oct. 22nd. I will have the baby at least 1 week early but with my track record I have them early so who knows!!!

Missed Monday...

I was so busy yesterday that I missed my post...I hate that because now it puts me behind and all messed up... Ok so I am going to catch up today and post Monday and Tuesdays post!

Mondays are for updates on me and my family...and to let you know what is coming up for this week so...

My family is great! Last Friday my kids had the day off, Lauren, my oldest, went and stayed with my mom cause she wasn't feeling the best. The other two kiddos went with me to the city. We went to old navy, JoAnns, Chipotle, Burger King, and Target. It was a fun trip and the kids were great! I got some new crafting stuff at JoAnns and can't wait to use it!

The plans for this week, in my life and here on the blog, should be awesome!!!

Tuesday (Today) - Tulle Puff Clip Tutorial
and we have MOPS today!

Wednesday - I will be sharing a #2 Pink and Zebra Birthday Outfit I completed!

Thursday - I will be reviewing a bow holder and a ladies new company!!! This should be lots of fun!
I also have a doctors appointment and possibly a big surprise!!!!

Friday - I am hoping that the weather gets warm and nice! The kids and I will get out and get some fun pictures! I will be posting these!

I am going to start off by giving a little bit of basic information about xyngular. There are 6 products, xyng global fruit juice, xyng, lean shake, accelerate, cheat, and flush. The whole package together is called ignite. This is an 8 day program but you can continue to maintain through 8 weeks or you can do the 8 days again (depending on how much weight you have or want to lose).
Here is what Laci said about the ignite program, "When someone orders the ignite package.......they get 30 days worth of the global blend juice, xyng, and lean shake.....they get 60 days worth of cheat, accelerate and flush. When the package arrives someone can just add those to their current lifestyle or choose to kickstart the program with the 8 day eating plan. Now I would like to share our experience from XYNGULAR! My husband was the one to review the products, I will fill everyone in on why later!
He had small samples of each product (except the juice but that is hard to get a sample of and mail it!) The small samples make it hard to get the full effect but we under stand that is how Laci needs to do it or all her products would be gone and that would be expensive for her to give all her stuff away!!!

My husband really liked the Xyng!! It gave him extra energy and the one part about it that he would like to get the full effect of is helping him sleep. We will probably by this product to see if it will help him sleep better (MUCH healthier than prescription sleeping pills)

The cheat is a very awesome product!!!! It is the first food sprinkle! It is tasteless and effective. It has been clinically proven to reduce weight and eliminate 25% of calories eaten! It is also FDA approved!

Funky Custom Bows

One of my favorite things to do is make custom bows for customers. I had a friend/customer contact me and ask if I could make her two large funky bows. Her daughter had two different birthday parties and wanted something different to take.

I started racking my brain! Her daughter is 6th grade so I was contacting my innner tween and decided I couldn't go wrong with Zebra print and peace signs!

Here are the two bows!

I wanted them to be a little more funkier than my normal bows so I added peace sign and star buttons. I also added jewels and a small bow! I thought they were so cute and my customer was happy with the outcome!

Princess Tutu Bow Holder

Hi everyone!!!! I want to start out my blog today by asking everyone to take a minute and say a prayer for a very good friend of mine, her kids, and their family. They were in a bad car accident and her children are in the hospital. I do not know details but I can not imagine. I know there can be such power behind prayer and I want sooo much for them to all be ok. Thank you everyone!

Every little girl needs a holder for her bows/head bands and a PRINCESS TUTU bow holder is the most perfect bow holder ever!!

This was my first Princess Tutu Bow Holder so I made it for Bella (my youngest daughter). I chose a pretty fun floral fabric. I picked ribbon, tulle, and a flower that matched and went to town on making my bow holder.

I love how it turned out but here are my tips on what i would do different the nest time I make it (My oldest daughter already requested one too)

*Iron the fabric before using it
*Use more tulle to make it fuller
*Use velcro for the head band holder part (I used magnets, or use stronger magnets and glue)

MIA and NEW Easter Puff Head Band!

I have been MIA (Missing In Action) for a while now. I have good legitimate reasons but will have to wait a bit to share them with you. Because of my reasons I just have not been on my game and have slacked a lot on my blog and business. I miss blogging and keeping up with all the blogs I love to read. I am slowly trying to come back and do my thing again!

To start out my week I would like to share a beautiful Easter Colored Puff Head Band I made. I absolutely love how it turned out!!! I will be making some of these in colors to match my girls dresses.

Today is a TUTU kind of day!

I missed everyone and I can't believe that I missed two days on my blog. It was a busy weekend and as much as I love my blog and all my followers it was a much needed weekend!

Saturday my husband and I spent some quality time with our older two kiddos. I took Lauren, my 8 year old, to see the Justin Bieber movie. I would totally reccomend the movie to anyone. It puts a whole new perspective on him and his talent. He is an incredible child and so unbelieveably talented. I will for sure be taking Lauren to the next concert in KC. My husband took Cooper, our 6 year old, and a friend to the World of Wheels Car Show. I think they all had fun. My youngest got to spend the day with GRANDMA!

Saturday was also my husbands birthday and I gave him a very great birthday present. I will have to tell you all about that in a later post!!! Think hard and see if you can guess what it was!

Sunday we just kind of had a lazy day and got everything ready for all our kids V-Day parties at school.

So that brings me to today...
I had a custom order for two tutus. I absolutely love how these turned out and wanted to share them with you!

Week #6 of ME!!!

OMG I have completely missed WEEK #4 and #5.... That means I have not had much me time and I can totally tell I need it. But I had a great WEEK #6 of ME!!!

I got to go to my first MOPS (mothers of Preschool students) meeting! I have been wanting to go to these meetings for a while now and something always comes up, sick kids, snow days, completely forgetting, etc... I am so happy to be connecting with other mothers and learning some valuable information.

The meetings topic was communication. Here are the few things that I took away from the meeting:

#1 Communication is a must in your relationship (but also in life in general)

#2 Every night at dinner you should communicate with your spouse and children. You should find out what they did that day and very importantly you should find out how they felt. (Did they have an arguement with a friend and if so how did they fill?...Did they work very very hard and if so how do they feel?...etc...)

#3 Throughout the week you should appreciate your spouse and tell them what all you appreciate them for.

#4 But also each of you should ask, once a week, What can I do to be a better wife/husband? And then you need to work on that. Only find one weakness once a week, don't over do it.

I have been trying to be a better wife. I hate cooking but my husband got a new job and it has been great but also a little stressful so I have been trying to have dinner ready a couple times this week. I have also been trying to communicate more, really just talk more instead of just sitting on the computer or watching tv while he cooks or whatever he does in the evening.

I loved this meeting and I am really looking forward to this coming Tuesday for the next meeting!

Catch up on life!

Well today I am having to take a break from blogging and the computer in general. I need to catch up on life! I have a house that not only needs picked up but needs some deep cleaning! I have done a few things but I have to get to it and get it done! I have 3 hours before my older two need to be picked up from school.

I also have 4 tutus, an applique shirt, and a few bows to complete before the end of the day!

I hope to be very productive after I retire the computer for the day... I will update you on tomorrows blog if I was successful!

Here is an updates picture of the puppy. Since she is a neopolitian mastiff she grows very fast and will be very big. Right now she is about 10 weeks old and weights about 23 pounds! So cute though!

Fun Chic Headbands!

Oh My Gosh, I have had a ton of fun making these new headbands! I have learned how to make two new kinds of flowers and love how they turned out.

I can't remember where I learned this first fabric flower and I also cant remember what the flower is called, I know I know what a great memory I have!

I decided to use my new pink glitter elastic for the headband part and who doesn't love zebra print!!!??? I topped it off with a pink jewel in the center!

The second fabric flower I found HERE! I used some scrap fabric I had laying around and some french netting. The fabric puff flower I added to finish the flower just perfect!

The third headband is made with a singed flower and felt roses! I found how to do the felt roses, HERE!
I have known how to do the singed flowers for a long while now and there are many places out there that will show you how. I added seed beads to the middle and absolutely love how this turned out!

I love each and everyone of these and plan on many more to come! I will be listing these in my ETSY shop today!!! These are perfect for photo shoots and the perfect outfit!

O man do I have a ton of these!!! Come on, you know you do too!!!!
I am going to blog about 5 that come to mind!!! I would love to hear that I am not the only one and what 5 of your mommy moments are!

#1 I am the worst to follow through with my threats or ANYTHING I tell my kids. I am going to go ahead and blame this on my mom!!!! I totally remember as a kid she would tell me, "Go clean your room, if it's not clean you don't go anywhere." uh huh yeah right! I still went and she usually cleaned it! This leads me to #2

#2 I always pick up and clean my kids rooms. I want it done a certain way and done right. I am pretty pickey about where toys go and how clothes are put away and hung up. I would rather just do it and it be done good!!!!

#3 I CANNOT get my 3 year old out of our bed. Another fault of my following through. I know I just need to put her in her bed and make her cry it out until we master it but this is sooooo hard... Any tips would be great!!!

#4 My kids are addicted to Candy! I have a candu bowl on the island in the kitchen and they love this. I need to resrict it more and use it more as a positive reinforcement...Ok I will start doing this and let you knwo how it goes. I guess this means the bench have to go so they cant climb and reach the bowl!!

#5 Today was Coopers 100th Day of School. Because of the snow days and then he was sick we slacked off and it crept up on us. His project was due today...well MOM did it for him. I feel so bad cause he should have done it on his own but I wanted him to have something. I have to say so myslef though, It was cool. It was a house made out of 100 pennies. Pics to come!

8 year old Lauren~ She can be sooo sweet and helpful! She is creative and is just like me (uh oh!!!)

6 Year old Cooper~ He is a handful but he always seems to make me laugh! he says the darndest things. He is very loving and has such a love hate relationship with his two sisters!

3 year old Izabella (Bella)~ She is a pistol. She does things her way and no other way. She is always telling us how much she loves us though!

Super Bowl Sunday

This Sunday is SUPER for many reasons!

2nd is, It is Super Bowl Sunday! The Green Bay Packers VS The Pittsburg Steelers!
We are fixing food and having a lay around don't do much kind of day!!!

Check out these applique shirts I made for customers!!! I think they turned out so great and the best part of all is, my customers loved them!

Here is the Steelers shirt. I used Steeler fleece fabric and appliqued it on in a heart shape that I freehanded. Then I freezer paper stenciled the word Steelers on top.

Here is the Green Bay Packer shirt. I used green, yellow, and white fabric to make the Packer logo. I looked at the logo on the computer and then freehanded it too.

I am sooo thankful it is Friday but I still have 2 out of 3 kids home. One is 3 so she is always home with me and one is running a fever. I really hope I can get lots accomplished today.

Little Legs Tutorial!

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday!!!
Today I am going to show you how to make little legs for little babies! (Toddlers can wear theese too!)
Start with long socks, adult knee high socks work very well! I found these adorable striped St. Patty's Socks and 2 pairs of Valentine's socks!

First step is cut off the toe and than make 2 cuts to cut off the heel.

Here is what it looks like when it is all cut apart.

This is the two parts you need. The other pieces can be thrown away.

Now you will have 4 pieces. 2 long pieces and 2 short pieces. You will need to fold the short piece in half. Like this:

Now put the cut part of the long sock into the short part. It will look like this:

Now it is time to serge the sock. You need to open the sock, you will have 3 pieces of cloth. That needs to go under the serger. Now you will serge it all the way around the sock.

Here is what it looks like after the sock has been serged all the way around!

Now turn the sock the right way and do the other sock the same way!

Here are all three pairs finished!!! I will put a picture of them on a baby up in just a little bit!

Wednesday Fun Day!

Hi Everyone!!! The Hoo Are You? post was meant for my todays post but since I posted it last night I just couldn't resist to not post today!!!! Did that all make sense????

Well today is another SNOW DAY!!! We are going a little stir crazy...but we found a few fun things to do here in the house! As I was messing around out there in the blog world I came across The Pampered Mom. She did a post on Snow Icecream and since we have over a foot of snow I thought, perfect fun for me and the kiddos! Click HERE for her blog!

Here is the recipe if you are interested...

Snow Ice Cream:
- Gather a large bowl of snow
- Pour in 1 cup of sugar
- a teaspoon of vanilla
- and heavy whipping cream to taste/consistency

mix together and enjoy.

My girls had a blast helping me make it!

And Cooper had a blast helping us eat it! (He was too busy playing video games while we were making it!)

NOTE: If you look close at the pool table my husband has not kept it clean after I worked so hard! And look close at the dining room table...I find those darn nerf darts everywhere...yes I mean absolutely everywhere!!!!!

And last but not least... We did not get to do the Wake-Up Wednesday. We have not been out and about much with this weather but I promise we will catch up and do them all!!! I am soooo happily married to Cole Douglass. We have been married for 3 1/2 years. I have never met a man more dedicated to his family and loves everything I love! I am so blessed to have him in my life.
2. What do you do for a living? Do you enjoy it?
I am a SAHM!!!!! But I also make bows, tutus, applique shirts/onesies, and tons more other girlie (and some boys) items!
3. In what state do you live? Where were you born and raised?
I live in Kansas. I was born in Joplin, MO but grew up in Tuksa OK and lived there for about 18 years. I went to Oklahoma State for 2 years and then moved to Kansas. I have lived here for about 10 years.
4. Do you have children? If so, how many? If not, do you want them?
I have 3 kids! 8 year old daughter, 6 year old son, and 3 year old daughter. We would love 1 more!

A Day in the Life of.....ME!

This post will be in two parts...please check back so you can see some after pics and hear how the last part of our day went! (I will update around 4pm...now you have no excuse to not come back by!)

I ended up falling asleep on the couch, it is sooo super comfy to sleep on which happens at least once a week! I woke up around 4am and couldn't get back to sleep. I went and got the dog out of her kennel and she laid on the couch with me, she is such a cute and soft snuggle bug!

I watched the movie Numb3rs (which I really enjoyed and would recommend to anyone!) and when it was over I turned some Full House on, who doesn't like some Full House! Finally I fell back asleep and woke back up when my hubby had to go to work.

The day started out with the kids waking up to snow and the joyous words, IT'S A SNOW DAY!

From there I watched them play Wii, listened to them fight about it, and ended in the Wii going off and Cooper going to his room...errrrr...don't they learn, this happens everytime!

Then I fixed some yummy french toast....wait, hold your breathe....everyone of them devoured it! I have to say so myself, it was some good stuff!

After fixing breakfast I did clean and organize the fridge. It was a complete disaster. I would open it and things would come jumping out at me. Nothing was put on the right shelf. AWWWWWWW much better! O and check out my Pampered Chef Quick Stir Pitcher. I love it so much, if you fix Kool-Aid, Tea, or anything that needs to be stirred you need this! Now I am on my way up to my craft room to clean and organize it. It looks like a tornado came threw or it got sick and threw up all my crafting supplies cause everything is everywhere!

This part of the room is where I have all my orders that need to ship and all my inventory!

Here is where I keep all, most, of my supplies. All my fabric, yarn, tulle, ribbon, flowers, beading supplies, and other odd and ends... The desk to the right is where I sit and make all my bows. Above the fabric covered push pin board is a vinyl saying that says, Just Be Yourself...I plan on adding 3 pieces of art above that. I can't wait to be able to get out, the snow is making that very hard, and get 3 canvas' from Hobby Lobby, paint, and glitter!

This is the table I do all my sewing and serging at. It isn't a real sturdy table and would like to get a new one sometime soon!

I absolutely love making lil ones their birthday outfits!!! I love being creative and making them one of a kind!!!

Your birthday is your day, it is a day that should be all about you! Your birthday outfit should stand out from all your guests and you should be in the spotlight!! This is what I hope to achieve with these precious outfits I make.

I was asked by a special customer if I could make her little girl a rhinestone cowgirl outfit. I decided to make a cowgirl boot applique and inside the star on the boot I put a rhinestone J for Joiey. Joiey will be 1 in April!!! Happy Birthday sweet one!

I was asked by not only a customer but a lady I have become great friends with to make her niece a special 2nd birthday outfit. She requested pink and black with rhinestones. I decided to make a fun funky 2 out of black rhinestones and I also put these on the bow. The tutu is pink and black. This little girl will be 2 very very soon! Happy Birthday!!!

And last but not least, I made a very special 3rd birthday outfit!!! I absolutely love how this outfit turned out!!! The birthday girl looked sooo cute in this outfit!!!

I have a couple more outfits in the works and can't wait until I can share them with everyone!!! I love making these outfits and love making little ones feel special!!

Awesome Fabric Flowers!

I was inspired AGAIN!!! This time I was inspired by Little Miss Momma's blog!!! I found this tutorial and used it to learn how to make my fabric flowers! Click HERE if you want to learn! I absolutely am in love with these flowers and could sit and make them all day long!!!

These flowers can be made for all ages and look great on anybody!

Here is a red and white puff fabric flower that I made. I made this flower with Valentines Day in mind! I made my oldest daughter (8 years old) an XOXO applique shirt and this will go great in her hair with the shirt!

And here is a Black Fabric Puff on a velvet ruffle headband. This headband is gorgeous and I can't wait to get a picture of it on a little baby's head!

I will keep the blog updated with all my new Fabric Puff Flowers!!!

This also brought back such great childhood memories of my grandparents because my grandma is the only person I knew that had one of these!!!

I use these grocery sacks all the time and before I had this wonderful item I had to go into the basement where we stored them away. Now it is so easy!!!

My plan is to make a few people I know these as gifts!

Hi Everyone!!!!! To start off, today is Wake-Up Wednesday and last week the challenge was to write a note to someone that inspires you. I wrote one to my mommy!! I have not had a chance to give her it yet but can't wait! I will update everyone when she gets it!!!

The weeks challenge is to visit someone elderly! You can visit a neighbor, family member, or even go to a nursing home. Make someones day a little brighter!!!

#10 I just turned 30 years old on January 21st!

#9 Christmas is my favorite holiday!!!! I love to see my kids happy!

#7 Rollercoaters are one of my absolutely favorite things to do!!!

#6 I hate being cold, and even though the snow is beautiful, I do not like it!
OK but look how cute our new puppy looks in the snow!

#5 I have been married for 3 1/2 years. It will be 4 years on June 16, 2011!!! I love my husband very much!

#4 We would love one more baby!!! Maybe one day soon I will have news for everyone...

#3 I love the smell of pine sol and I love it sooo much that sometimes I just put water and pine sol in the sink for it to make my house smell sooo good!!!

Cleaning and Organizing Day!

Well today started off with a goal of cleaning and decluttering some of those spots I just never get to. I have wanted to throw away stuff and make those spots look better for a while but just havent gotten around to it.

Here is a before of the buffet table in the dining room. It usually gets kids school papers thrown on it and coupons, after I go through the paper.

And here is the after!!! Much better!!!

The next project was to clean off was the kitchen island. It is the worst clutter spot in my whole house (ok, other than the first landing of the stairs, it always gets stuff thrown on it that needs to be carried upstairs). I wanted to throw stuff away and go through my black bill basket thing.

I accomplished it!!!! Look so nice now!

The next spot was my husbands area!!! I had asked him to clean it but if you want something done and done right you just have to do it yourself. His pool table always just gets everything thrown on it. (his work clothes and his work supplies)and it was dirty and covered in spices from his beef jerky making...

And here is the after!!! now he needs to make sure all the balls are there and put the side panel back on!

And last but needed it the most is his bar/beef jerky area!!! It had spices all over the place and needed dusted sooo bad! I scrubbed and scrubbed!!!

Now it looks a ton better!!! I am sooo glad this is done!!!! And I hope he appreciates it!!

I hope this makes you want to get up and clean!!! I know I always get inspired by others projects and clean houses!!!!!

I'm A Blingin Fool!

One of my favorite things to do is make kiddos birthday outfits!!! (you can see other examples in older posts) I usually make them with the number that the child is turning. Well I had a request to make a little girl a rhinestone cowgirl outfit! I had a ton of fun making this one!!! Today I am going to show you the onesie only but will post a picture of the full outfit very soon!!!

New Family Member!

Well today we did a whole lot of nothing! But we did get a new family member! We got a new puppy. She is a blue (gray really but blue is what they call the color) neopolitan mastiff. She is very sweet and we love her already. I am sooo excited that this time with this puppy, I will be home and can take care of her.

We have two other neopolitan mastiffs but they are outside dogs. They have the whole backyard, their own room in the garage, and a kennel area with two dog houses, so they have a good outside life! When my husband and I were both working full time jobs we had to put them outside so our house wasn't destroyed. Well now they are too used to it and have to stay out there but they still get love!!!

The new puppy doesn't have a name yet. We are waiting on the older kids to come home so they can help. We are leaning towards LAYLA... I will update everyone tomorrow on her name!

Week 3 of ME!!!

Hi everyone!!! I didn't get to post my week 3 of 52 weeks yesterday because I wanted to share Bella and I's crayon fun! Well this has been a huge hit at our house! My older kids came home from school and begged me all evening and all day today to let me make their own crayon. They chose their colors and peeled their crayons all by themselves (I could not peel another crayon!!!). It was such a good time. They were so excited for their crayons! We will be doing this again but with some different shapes and molds! Stay Tuned!

OK so week 3 of me... Friday was my birthday but I really don't think I have got much ME time this week. I still did my workout 4 days out of 5 (darn snow day got me) and today I had about 31 minutes, to be exact, to play DANCE CENTRAL, all by myself!!!! Yes you heard that correctly, just me. I didn't have kids begging me to let them play, or laughing at me, or staring at me...I felt so goofy but loved every minute of it!!!

I just cannot have a post without a picture so here is one of ME!!! Maybe it will help make this feel a little more personal!

Chunky Crayon Fun!

Hi everyone! Sorry I did not get around to posting yesterday! I was very busy with so many things! I finished my husbands resume and wrote his cover letter (We are not sure if he is taking over the family company or not so we wanted to have this done just in case!) I read a lot on couponing, on different blogs. (but I still don't know enough, any help is soooo appreciated!) I worked on bows and getting orders ready to ship out. (I haven't been out of the house to get to the post office, so i hope to do that today!) Then I tried to keep the house clean, the kids in order, and I fixed dinner. (I am not the one that cooks, that is my husbands job! but he worked late so I did it....)

OK enough of my day yesterday! Today is a NEW DAY!

Today Bella and I are going to make big colorful chunky round crayons!

OK the very first step is to find all your broken crayons and peel the paper off, this is the not so fun part...it took me a lot longer than I expected and by the end I was soooo tired of peeling paper!!!

ok now the first fun step, spray or coat the cupcake tin with vegteable oil. Now you can start sorting the crayons by colors (this will be a great preschool learning activity for her and a lot of fun!) We will be sorting them into cupcake tins.

Now you can place the cupcake tin full of crayons into a the oven. It needs to be preheated at 275 degrees F. Bake them for about 7-8 minutes but watch them because they will melt fast. When they looked melted enough, carefully and slowly remove them from the oven. You can stir them with a toothpick for a swirly look, or leave them as is. Let them cool completely (can be placed in the freezer to speed up process once the tin is not so hot.)

You can use mini cupcake tin or large, we used both!

Wake-Up Wednesdays

Since Wake-Up Wednesday is a about doing kind gestures and making someone elses day better than it was I would like to start off with Thanking my husband for everything that he has done for me and our family the past 4 1/2 years. He is amazing and I could not ask for better. (I know he won't be reading this but its ok!) I LOVE YOU HONEY!

This challenge started last week and there has been two challenges so far. The first week was make something and give it to someone you don't know very well. Well, I didnt do good on this challenge. I did do a good deed for someone that was in need so that was my wake-up wednesday.

This week we were suppose to give others compliments. I tried to do this more than I would have any other days and it went pretty good. I didn't have anyone get super excited but I think that I did make a few people a little more happy than they were before the compliment.

OK, this week the challenge is to write a letter to someone that has touched you, inspired you, or helped make you who you are today. I will be writing a letter to my mother. Not only did she do such a great job raising me but she has helped me as an adult more than I could have ever imagined. Her and my step dad have done so much for me and my family and it was stuff that they did not ever have to do. I know she will be so happy to get this note but I also think she will think I am a little crazy cause I am not a sappy sappy person.

A treasure around your neck!

I absolutely love making these photo necklaces for people. To me they are a special treasure around one's neck. Any picture can be made into a necklace. I had a lady contact me to ask if I could make her little girl's one of their daddy. Their daddy will be getting deployed and she thought her girls would love having their daddy around their neck too remind them off him. I think this is precious and makes me proud that I can touch lives with these. These make great gifts too, my mom has many different ones of her grandchildren and love wearing them! I love wearing my kids and family around my neck!!!

New Project!

I recieved my new American Girl doll headbands in the mail this weekend! I knew that tons of little girls would love to have a headband for themselves and a matching headband for their favorite doll! These headbands can be made in any colors and bows can be added to them!!!

They turned out sooooo cute and every little girl would love to have a set!!! My girls love them!

Third Birthdays Are A Blast!

I wanted to share another applique shirt idea that I did! My youngest child (Bella) just had her third birthday and when I would ask her what kind of birthday she wanted her response, everytime, would be "PURPLE!!!" So we did a purple birthday cake and I made her a purple outfit!!! I think it turned out perfect!!

Here is a picture of her birthday cake we made. It was our first attempt at fondant icing. I will try another cake like this for my daughters 9th birthday in July!!!

My best friend's little girl just had her third birthday too. She wanted me to make her a number 3 shirt and pigtail bows. This was very last minute so she just went home and found a t-shirt that I could applique on and then I found some fabric and ribbon that would be perfect for it! Here is what I came up with!

Week #2 of ME!!!

Today was a crazy day and I am so sorry I am just getting to blog. I don't have any fun crafts or tutorials to share. The day flew by and I did not get much of anything accomplished. So today I want to share my second week of ME!
Tonight I am going out with a friend that I have lost touch with. We are going to dinner and a movie. I am way looking forward to chatting with her and hopefully getting our friendship back that we once had. I will tell you guys all about it this weekend!!!

3 favorite bows!

Today I wanted to share 3 bows that I made the other day! I absolutely love making bows and accessorizing little girls!!! I think every little girl should have a bow to match every outfit. There are many people out there that do not even know all the possibilities with bows so.... this is my attempt at educating those that don't know their bows!!!

The first bow I want to share is the KORKER! Korkers can be made all sizes. They can be made one color, many colors, or with patterned ribbon!
I made this one with red, pink, and red dotted ribbon. I was thinking about Valentine's Day when I made this bow!

Here is the small basic bow. We love this type of bow at our house. It can be used on a ponytail, on the front side of the head to pull back the bangs, or two for pigtails.
I found this ribbon and absolutely loved it. Peace signs are in right now!!!

Last but not least is the Large Stacked bow! There are so many possiblities with this type of bow. It is a solid 1.5 in ribbon bow, a small 7/8 in ribbon bow on top of that, and then I topped it off with an awesome center!
This bow is a pink dotted ballerina bow!!!!

Inspired in SOOO Many Ways!

have been inspired in so many ways by so many people! I named my blog Girl Boy Girl Inspired because I have an 8 year old daughter, a 6 year old son, and a 3 year old daughter and they inspire me every day to be a better person, a creative person, and to try my best at everything.

I have never had a great way to exhibit my children's art work and of all times this is the best time ever, my baby (Bella the 3 year old) is starting preschool tomorrow! I was browsing the blog world and saw a fun great way to show it off so I put my own touch on it and here it is! (I want more than anything to link back to where I got my idea but can't find the blog now...I want to give credit where credit is due so if you know the blog I am talking about please let me know!)

YAY!!! I am sooo glad that Michelle found my blog and yes, she is the one that inspired me to do this project!!! Thank you sooo much!!!

Funny but Great Post!!!

OK I will have to give you all the background for why I did this or it will seem completely ODD! Well we are a bit ODD but that is ok! We have a brown flannel sheet that I love in the winter! I don't have to get into a cold bed and it is comfy (I like the house warm, I don't like to be cold) Well my husband HATES the sheet, he complains when I wash sheets and put that one on the bed. He says he is sweating and never sleeps good. (He like it cold and we never have the heater above 67 degrees) We joked about cutting it in half and have one side his and one side hers. I finally took the plunge and did it!!! It turned out way better than I imagined and we will try it out tonight!!! HAHAHA It even goes great with our bedroom redo that is under construction right now (excuse the half painted walls, I am in the middle of painting but these SNOW DAYS have stopped that. I can't paint with three kids in the house!)

SNOW DAY!

HI there!!! This wasn't my original post for today but that post can wait till tomorrow!!! We had a SNOW DAY today! I called my bestie and her, her son (coop's best friend), and her sister joined me and my kiddos at the park for some sledding fun!!! This is the first time that I have sledded in forever! It was a blast! One cool thing was, the local newspaper showed up and took some great pictures of us for this Wednesday's paper! What a way to spend the day!!! I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed the play time!!!

Bella wasn't all for the sledding...she went three times but wasn't thrilled. I guess at 3 she just ins't quite sure if she likes it or not!

She has been doing this cross eyed thing lately and thinks it hilarious, well here she is at her finest!

Here is Lauren getting ready to go down the big hill!!! She looks so cozy and pretty! She had a blast!

Here she is coming back up the hill!!! Man I got my workout for the day. I think I walked up that hill about 30 times!!!

Sunday Scoop

Here on the Sunday Scoop I am going to share projects that we have going here in our home. I started our bedroom about a year ago and I am going to finish it now!!! When we bought this house it was covered with gold stuff, gold door knobs, gold ceiling fans, gold bathroom knobs, gold gold gold.... It also was covered in flowers, don't get me wrong I like flowers and floral prints but these were not nice (in my opinion!) The first picture I want to share is my hubby and daughter working together to tape off my middle stripe! (The top will be light blue and bottom will be navy blue, then the middle stripe is going to be brown!)

The next picture is our bed, ignore it I was stripping it to wash everything! There will be pictures of me and my husband on either side of the window.

OK now this picture is embarrassing!!! We have been using a box to put our DVD player on and other various items. When this project is finished there will be a mantle under the tv. This will hide the cords some and give me a spot to sit a few creative projects!! I think that the people that owned the house before us were smokers (I can't smell it but the fireplace isn't white, its like yellowish white...yuck!) I plan on repianting that and then getting some sort of shelf to sit the DVD player on and other items!

BEWARE!!! These pictures have the last remaining floral wallpaper. HIDEOUS! This is
a niche in the ceiling and I plan on painting where the floral paper is brown. The ceiling fan has already been replaced! I had to get rid of the gross gold one!

I can not wait till this project is finished and I can show it off!!! I have wanted my bedroom done forever ago! I also have some uppercase living that will be on the walls and I hope to complete some fun creative projects to add to the room too!

Some Favorite Items!!!

I want to show everyone an order that I have been working on! I absolutely love how these items turned out and I am so excited to give them to the customer! I hope that there are some excited kiddos to recieve their gifts!

The first is a First Birthday Outfit! The mom wanted a very pink outfit so this is what I came up with. I think I succeeded on the very pink part!!! I love the number 1on the front of the shirt and it all matches so well!

I also made a very fun brown and pink spiral dot M bow holder! This is the biggest style of bow holder that I make and a perk of this bow holder is, it comes with a wearable hair bow! I can paint this bow holder in many different ways and can have it match your little princess' room!

And last but not least is the JOHN DEERE T-Shirt I appliqued for her little boy! This shirt was a lot of work but i loved how it turned out! Anyone that likes John Deere should love this shirt! I hope the lil man does too!

Week #1 of ME!

Well I know this seems hard to believe but I actually have two "ME" times to share for this week!!! I have been finding about 30 minutes for the last couple days to do my Biggest Loser Workout on the XBOX 360 Kinect!!! I love this thing. It is sooooo amazing. My kiddos absolutely love Dance Central and I can say it is super fun for me too!!! I might just secretly dance dance dance, even when the kids aren't here!!! I am sure there is somewhere that does this, but it would be a super fun bar thing, kind of like Karaoke. (But me find time or energy to go to a bar would be like winning the lottery, not happening!) So my workout time has been nice and I plan on keeping this "ME" time going for a while. I want to also thank my husband cause last night he made the kids go in the dining room with him so I had the tv and XBOX all to myself for my workout! If not, they are behind me moving and dancing around in the camera!!

Ok for the next "ME" time! My husband rented a movie from REDBOX the other day (he rented this one with me in mind, it was a chick flick!) and we have not had a night where the kids got to bed and we had time to sit down and watch it. Well I told him last night that I wanted us to watch it. Guess what? IT HAPPENED!!! GOING THE DISTANCE is a great and laugh out loud movie. My husband even enjoyed it! If I can make it through a night movie, that means it has to be good because I am usually out!!!

Well I had a great time trying to find "ME" time and look forward to more of it!!!

Wake-up, wake-up kids, shower, cinnamon rolls baked, kids fed, Lauren out the door (Cooper stayed home, his eye is irratted), fix and ate my bagel, messaged and sent out all invoices from the Bella Buy, ran to friends house, post office, walmart trip, made lunch for kids, ate, fixed jello, fixed pudding, worked on a couple new projects, and now blogging!!!

I have been super busy all day long and I am just now getting a second to sit down and post. I hope everyone enjoys this post and gives inspiration for some creative ideas and projects!

I have two things in my blog today. I will be showing you directions to a fun and crafty bow holder. I will also show you how Lauren's hair turned out. I love Girly Do Hair styles. I really love doing the front braid and when I saw the bows made from hair, I thought "OOOO so much fun and soooo cute!!!" Lauren's hair is not quite long enough but it still worked!!! She really liked it and wore it to school!

Next:
Check out this fun bow holder!!!
Here are most of the items you will need for this project. You will also need scissors (to cut the ribbon),a lighter (to heat seal the ribbon ends) and a hot glue gun.

Now paint the wooden shape any color you want. (I chose white so it wouldn't be too busy and easily read.

Then you are going to paint your design on the wooden shape with paint pens. I chose my ribbon and that helped me choose what color paint pens I needed and the design I wanted to paint.

I now let that dry and while it's drying I heat sealed the ends of my ribbon. Just take a lighter and run it across all ends quickly.

Next I put a little bit of hot glue on the ends of the ribbon and fold it over. This gives a clean look to the end of your bow holder.

Once your painted design is dry then you can paint on your letters. I chose to write BOWS but you could write a name, initials, DIVA, PRINCESS, etc...

Now you are going to glue the long strands of ribbon to the bottom of the bow holder, the NOT folded over ends!

Next step is to glue anything you would like to the ends of the ribbon. I chose little poms!

Now glue you top ribbon on the top of the bow holder. This is what you will hang the holder with.

And TADA you are finished!!!!! What a great bow holder!!!!

My Sweet Bella and the BELLA BUY!

I am doing a Bella Buy, it is a sale on my facebook page that I try to have weekly. I sell my items at a discounted price than what it usually sells for. This is a great opportunity for customers to get great items at great prices. Come on over to facebook and check out my sale. I have not set a specific day of the week for Bella Buys cause I have to go with the flow of my kids, orders that need to be done for customers, and the 24 hour a day time restraint, that I fight daily!

Here is what my sweet Bella Boo is doing while I work... What more than playing dress-up!!!! She is loving it and having so much fun! I have to stop about every 15 minutes and change her dress for her but it is worth it to see that sparkle in her eye. I think she feels so special today and is loving every bit of it!

An inspiring kind of day!

I want to start off with this picture because I find it inspiring. I was out last night and saw the sky. I luckily had my camera and pulled off the side of the road. The red and orange colors in the sky were brillant. Do you ever feel like throughout the whole day you haven't even had a second to stop, think, and breathe? I feel like that all the time. I am the type of person that feels like I never have enough hours, minutes, or seconds in a day. This moment I just sat in my car and stared at the night sky for a couple minutes. It was so great and neat to watch how the colors changed and the colors went farther down into the earth with every minute!

Now I want to give a shout out to mckmama. I followed her instruction and came out with this fabulous picture! I did all of my editing on Photoshop cs5. I will post the before (totally unedited), the B&W picture, and the fun edited picture!!! I love this picture sooo much!

OK I hope this is not too long of a blog and my followers are still hanging in there and want to see what I have for you next! Here comes my instructions for lining a clip and adding some fun details to it!!! Hope you learn something and enjoy doing it!!!
First step is to get everything you need for this project! You need a hot glue gun, a clip (I use double prong alligator clips), 3/8 size ribbon (I wanted to make a V-Day clip so I have XOXO ribbon), any item to glue onto your clip (I have a V-day item I bought from Hobby Lobby scrapbook section), and scissors.

Next step is to get your clip and turn it over and line the underneath of the top of the clip (I hope that makes sense!) Here are 2 pictures that should show you how.

Then I flip it over and line the top of the clip. I am just putting hot glue straight onto the clip and then quickly, before it dries, adding the ribbon to it.

Then you need to put hot glue in the top, squeezey part, of the clip and put the ribbon down into that. I know I get pretty scientific with my wording!

The next step is to cut off the ribbon with just a little left over so you can hot glue it to the clip.

Now you have your finished, partially lined clip. I DO NOT fully line my clips because it makes it very hard and aggrivating to get a full lined clip in the hair.

You can now add any item to the top of your clip with a decent amount of hot glue. (or you can use E6000 glue, found at wal-mart, hobby lobby, joanns, michaels,etc...
Here is the finished product and check out all the other things you can do by lining a clip!!!

TIPS:
Heat seal both ends of your ribbon with a lighter. Just quickly run the lighter across the edges of the ribbon on both ends.

If you have a ribbon the has a print that can be upside down once the clip is finished then you need to know which side the child will be wearing it in her hair. If you need more specifics on this let me know I will explain better and do a tutorial on it.

Fabulously Fun Project

I do not have an embrodiery machine yet and have been wanting another way to add names to shirts, well I found it!!! Freezer Paper Stenciling!!! I am not going to go into major details this time but you can check it out HERE. I am going to break it down some and show you my little add ons.

OK first step is get the freezer paper (I found it at Price Chopper), decide on a design you want (I decided a skater theme), then find a font you want and the size you want it (I use Da Fonts and play around with it), and then I freehanded a skateboard that I wanted to applique on the shirt!

Here is the font I chose, I thought it looked Skaterish!

And here is the skateboard that I freehanded. It only has one wheel shown cause you will use it to trace the second wheel too. I will go a little more in depth about this step since it is the step I added. I always freehand a item or print one out and then I cut it out. Then I trace it onto fusable webbing, cut it out, iron it on to the fabric that I want to use (TIP~ iron it on to the backside of the fabric or you will not have the vibrant nice side of the fabric for your applique), and then I iron on the cut out applique to the t-shirt. The last step is to sew around the applique.

I would recommend that you do the freezer paper stenciling first and let the fabric paint dry and then I would do the applique process. This will ensure that you have the right placement with the skateboard!

Sunday Summarize

Sundays are going to be about summarizing our week. I am very new to blogging but hope that within the next couple weeks I will figure out the very best way to have my blog setup. I have lots of things that I am wanting to learn and can not figure it out by googling it. I am hoping that I have a fellow blogger come to my rescue and be willing to answer my questions. If you would like to be that special friend to me I would be OOOO SOOOO GRATEFUL!!

Ok on to my SUNDAY SUMMARIZE!

This week was a great week at home with my kiddos. We played with so many new toys and my son in an XBOX addict! We might have to have a weekly XBOX Annonymous meeting!

I don't think we have got out of pajamas much this week and I am sure people that have come to my door have not thought I was the Next Top Super Model. I hope that this coming week I will be more productive and I am super excited about my blog!

Monday and Tuesday the kids are still out of school so I hope to find and do some fun projects with them! Watch daily for my posts, this will be lots of FUN!

My first share of 2011!!

I have made many birthday outfits for many special lil people but this outfit was extra special. I want to give a shout out to lil "M", hugs and kisses!!!

I started this outfit with the color palette, pink, purple, black, and white! The items I needed to make it was tulle~ pink, purple, black and white (I use the 6 in. rolls of tulle), elastic (I use stretchrite 3/4 in from Wal-Mart ), ribbon (I used black with white polka dots satin ribbon 7/8 size), a white tank (this one is from Wal-Mart),Fabric spray paint (Simply Spray Tye Dye from Hobby Lobby), rubber bands (no more than 10),and hot glue, double prong alligator clip, needle and thread, and ribbon for the bow. And SCISSORS!

I wish I had step by step pictures to show of this project but I don't (I will next item I feature)

I start with the Tye dye tank. I just randomly tie rubber bands around parts of the tank and then spray the dye. I let the front dry, take the bands off, and move to the back. I feel this is really an idiot proof project! They have all turned out awesome, at least to me!

I made a small bow and attached it to a pin so it could be added to the tank or taken off.

The tutu, I get the waist measurement and cut elastic. I hand sew the elastic together for the tutu.
Then I sit down and cut my strips of tulle the length I want them for the correct length or tutu. This depends if you want a short, pixie tutu, or a long princess tutu. I went with a pixie style tutu.
Then I tied the tulle around the elastic (I will show my technique in pictures soon. Then after the tutu was done I cut small piece to alternate around the bottom of each piece of tulle. This creates the petti type tutu.
When completely done I wrap the waist of the tutu!!!

Then I make a hair bow to match the whole outfit and tada that completes it!!!

If I have followers that are interested in a more detailed instructions I will do this!!!

2010 has come to an END!

2010 was good to me but I am starting a new chapter and one of the things I am doing is blogging. I am going to start doing crafting and sharing some great ideas of my own and awesome things I have learned from other crafters. I have not blogged a lot but just in the last couple days have come across some great women and hope to show everyone how talented they are.

I will start this blog today and hope to learn enough that I will get it up and going soon. I hope to have many followers and meet some great new people. I have learned so much just in the last few days and it makes me sooo excited all the possiblities that I will be able to do!

Please pass on my blog and keep in touch with me. Let me know what you would like to see and what I am doing right and wrong on here so I can make this the best blog I can. I promise to keep it interesting and something that you will want to read daily!!!
